Basingstoke, 09 May 2019 – Tech Data Corporation (Nasdaq: TECD) has announced that an existing member of its Tech Data UK Board, Matt Child, has been appointed with immediate effect to the position of Advanced Solutions Managing Director, UK and Ireland. Following Matt’s move within the company, James Reed has been promoted to Managing Director, Endpoint Solutions, with immediate effect and joins the Tech Data UK Board.
Matt was previously Managing Director, Endpoint Solutions. His extensive experience of engaging with senior contacts among vendors and customers – combined with his strong drive to succeed in all markets – means he is well suited to maximising new opportunities for his team, to whom he brings considerable leadership credentials.
Matt Child has been with Tech Data for just under four years, holding a number of senior positions. As Managing Director of the Endpoint Solutions business, he has led the introduction of market-leading initiatives such as Tech Data’s Tech-as-Service proposition, which is now a standard offering across Tech Data Europe. Prior to Tech Data, Matt has occupied Board roles for almost 20 years at various tech companies and was also Chief Operating Officer of Leeds United Football Club.
James Reed is well placed to take on Matt’s previous position of Managing Director, Endpoint Solutions. James has been with Tech Data for over 18 years and has enjoyed significant achievements in many roles within the company and is an accomplished leader with a deep understanding of how Tech Data’s business works end-to-end. James epitomises Tech Data’s corporate values and has a competitiveness and leadership style that will bring much to the UK&I Board team as well as to the continued journey of our Endpoint Solutions business.
