Tech Data welcomes extension of Microsoft FastTrack scheme to additional partners

By Simon Meredith | 22nd February 2016

Basingstoke, 22 February 2016 – Tech Data has welcomed Microsoft’s decision to expand its FastTrack offer on cloud solutions to help partners deliver more value to small and mid-sized business customers.

The current FY16 Adoption Offer is now available to customers with as few as 50 seats. It had previously been available only to organisations with 150 seats or more. It can be used for purchases of Office 365 Business, Business Essentials, and Business Premium.

Under the revised offer, customers purchasing more than 50 seats and up to 149 seats will qualify for $25 per seat to be redeemed through partners for consultancy and services. Importantly, the redemption funds can now be used to drive active usage of non-Exchange workloads and the offer has been extended to 30 June 2016.

All qualifying customers will also be eligible to utilise FastTrack for assistance to migrate their files to OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Team Sites from file shares or Google Drive. Partners need to have the appropriate Microsoft Gold or Silver competency to qualify for the additional financial support for deployments.

Mark Whittle, Microsoft Business Manager at Tech Data, said: “We see the decision to extend FastTrack as a really positive one for Microsoft Partners. The scheme has been extremely popular and successful with end-user customers and helped resellers to encourage adoption of Office 365. Knowing that they will have access to expert knowledge and expertise as they migrate to the cloud-based solution gives them confidence and means that qualified partners can offer to provide plenty of assistance from the start of negotiations. It helps committed Microsoft partners to win business and make use of their skills to add value and at the same time, shows the customer the value that qualified Microsoft Partners can deliver with their expertise.”

The changes will also add momentum to the growing popularity of Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) programme, which Tech Data has been championing with partners, Whittle added. “CSP has become the core route for delivery of Office 365 and Microsoft cloud services and the level of activity is still rising. The FastTrack extension can only drive further engagement by resellers.”

Tech Data has a dedicated Microsoft solutions team that is ready to support partners on every aspect of the FY16 Adoption Offer and CSP, which expands cloud sales opportunities for resellers by enabling them to sell combined services and directly provision, manage and support customers.
