Basingstoke, 15 August 2016 – Tech Data is giving resellers a chance to get fully up to speed with the latest opportunities in the SMB market at this year’s Partner Academy event. The day will be held at the prestigious Carden Park Hotel, near Chester, on Friday 30th September.
Previously known as the Vendor Engagement Forum, this refreshed format for 2016 is geared specifically towards sales executives in partners that are targeting SMBs and has a strong focus on enabling business growth and identifying new business opportunities.
Delegates will be able to attend a series of plenary sessions and product demonstrations, and hear directly from leading vendors about their latest developments, plans and opportunities. They will also be able to take part in focused interactive discussions and hold one-to-one meetings, both with vendor companies and Tech Data.
Leading vendors supporting the event include Cisco, HP Inc., HP Enterprise and Veeam. Representatives from all Tech Data’s focused business units and Collection of Specialists, including Azlan, Tech Data Mobile, Maverick and Datech, will be in attendance. In addition, there will be specialists from Tech Data’s SMB business development, cloud, e-commerce, and credit and finance teams on hand to talk about the wide range of services Tech Data can provide to SMB resellers.
A massive 86 percent of delegates who attended the last event in October 2015 rated it as ‘excellent’ and the Tech Data team expect next month’s event at Carden Park to be even more beneficial.

Tech Data has launched a mobile-optimised version of its InTouch ecommerce site, bringing comprehensive access to real-time product information, availability and pricing to resellers’ smartphone and tablet screens. The app provides new interactive features that help partners engage with customers on the spot and increase their prospects of winning business. It has also made improvements to its desktop website, introducing redesigned product pages and new Category Stores that make it easier and faster to find products.
Separately, Tech Data has introduced the Cloud Mastery Journey; an end-to-end programme that enables resellers to build their own cloud practice. It begins with an expert assessment of their current capabilities and then provides partners with access to expert training and other resources, allowing them to build their skills and develop their own cloud value proposition.
As part of the Partner Academy package, delegates will also be able to enjoy a drinks reception and dinner with an option to stay overnight at the Carden Park country estate, which also boasts an onsite golf course.
