Tech Data takes resellers back to Mirosoft Showcase Classroom

Basingstoke, 31 March 2016 – Tech Data is returning to the Microsoft Showcase Classroom, giving resellers the chance to revisit Microsoft’s complete proposition for education and gather a head of steam before of the major seasonal upgrade programmes that will take place during the summer break.

It is also giving resellers based outside London the opportunity to benefit from the Showcase Classroom experience by taking the event to two regional locations. The two London sessions will be hosted by Tech Data at the Microsoft facility in Paddington on 18 May and 22 June. The Showcase Classroom will visit The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield, near Birmingham, on 25 May, and The Mere in Knutsford, to the south of Manchester, on 15 June.

All presentations and workshops will be run by highly-qualified teachers and enable resellers to experience truly immersive learning scenarios using the latest Microsoft devices. These days will form part of a wider overall programme that Tech Data will be running to help partners target the education sector ahead of the school holiday period.

Kirsty Prigmore, Public Sector Marketing Manager at Tech Data, said that the company had decided to make use of the facility again after seeing positive results last year. “The Microsoft Showcase Classroom is a fantastic resource and the experience resellers get from it is invaluable. They are able to get hands-on and interact with Microsoft technologies, so they can see the technology in action and experience it from the perspective of both teachers and pupils. It’s a really good experience that helps resellers to sell more effectively to schools.”

Technologies and solutions explored will include the new Surface Pro devices and Office 365. Microsoft will also demonstrate how Windows 10 provides a stable platform for the management of devices, apps and services in an educational setting.

Microsoft and Tech Data will be embarking on a full education sector marketing programme over the spring and summer and resellers who attend the Showcase Classroom days will be well-placed to take advantage, said Prigmore. “There will be plenty of good opportunities when the summer comes but teachers and IT staff in schools are always under time pressure, so it’s advisable to start early, get your marketing effort underway and be ready to take opportunities when they arrive. The Showcase Classroom is the ideal place to kick-off your plans.”
