Tech Data accelerates investment in self-service Software Store to boost renewals business for partners

  • On track to hit 50 percent of all license renewals through the portals by the year-end
  • Automated data pack option now available to partners with high volume business
  • Dedicated head appointed to provide further business development support

Basingstoke, 14 September 2021Tech Data, a TD SYNNEX (NYSE: SNX) company, is increasing investment in its Software Store self-service renewals platform introducing a monthly data pack option for partners that have a large number of up-coming renewals and providing dedicated business development support.

The company is seeing steady growth in usage of the nine portals via which software and service renewals can be tracked, quoted for, and ordered, and is on-track to achieve 50 percent of all software licensing renewals through them by the end of the year.

The new data pack option will provide larger reseller partners with all pertinent information on their up-and-coming renewals for automatic input into their own internal systems. Michael Holden, business development manager eCommerce, Tech Data, UK and Ireland, explained.

“Larger partners may have thousands of renewals they want to track and might need to give access to many different users while ensuring they conform to security and data policies. We’ve developed the data pack option to provide partners with an uncomplicated way to get all the information they need to automate their renewals business, whilst ensuring they are compliant.”

The data pack can be provided monthly, or on any required frequency. The partner’s own IT personnel work with Tech Data’s ecommerce team to devise the right format and ensure that appropriate security and data protection processes are followed.

Tech Data has also appointed a business development manager for the Software Store programme. Zarina Greenhalgh – who was previously Citrix business development manager – has taken up the newly-created role and will assist partners in onboarding to the platforms and driving renewals business.

Partners who register on the Software Store have access to advanced information on up-coming renewals. They can also generate customer quotations and process orders, automatically. The Software Store sites consequently save partners an enormous amount of time as well as helping them to maximise license renewals.

Michael Holden added: “We have put considerable investment and effort into the Software Store to provide resellers with a simple, efficient way to manage and optimise their renewals business. It’s gratifying to see partner uptake growing, and we are right on target to achieve 50 percent self-service on renewals and push on further in 2022. The Software Store programme is helping partners to secure business earlier and more efficiently, thus supporting customer retention, helping to keep cashflow moving, and providing added business stability, all of which are vitally important at a time when many businesses are transforming to services- and subscription-led models.”

Tech Data now has nine dedicated Software Store pages through which vendor renewals can be managed. These cover Autodesk, Adobe, Broadcom, Cisco, Microsoft, Red Hat, Veeam, Veritas, and VMware. Further stores are in development and will be launched in the coming months.
