Tech Data brings BQ 3D printers to UK market

Basingstoke, 14 January 2016 – Tech Data is now stocking the full range of 3D printers and kits from innovative Spanish manufacturer, BQ, opening up new opportunity for UK resellers and retailers to address the high levels of interest in 3D printing and significant potential in the business, consumer and education markets.

BQ offers a range of 3D printers including the Hephestos 2 kit-form printer, which can be assembled in around an hour and is specifically designed for use in education. It is robust, built mainly from aluminium and steel parts, and with a recommended price of £640, very affordable.

Another of BQ’s offerings, the Prusa i3, is the most popular kit-form 3D printer in use amongst the ‘RepRap’ community, while the entry-level, Ciclop 3D scanner, which is also a self-build project and, like all the BQ devices, fully open source.

BQ’s Witbox 2 device is an A4 device that can produce output up to 20cm in height. It retails at £1360 and is manufactured at BQ’s own design and production centre in Navarra, Spain. As BQ makes its own products, it can apply the very tightest quality controls and standards. It also manufactures its own consumables for the printers in Spain, which Tech Data will also be making available.
