Basingstoke, 06 October 2015 – Tech Data’s HP Enterprise Business Unit and Group Marketing Director, Andy Dow, will be setting out his perspective on the Internet of Things and the opportunities and challenges it presents to the channel in a keynote speech at the CompTIA Member and Partner Conference in London later this month.
The focus of the talk will be on how, with the Internet of Things now delivering more integrated connectivity, and smart objects and technologies now starting to emerge, resellers can position their business model to take advantage of the changes and cope with the new challenges of big data and security.
Dow says: “The Internet of Things delivering advanced connectivity of systems and services that moves beyond simple machine-to-machine communication. Terms like smart objects, smart grids and smart cities are entering the collective consciousness, and practical uses of the technology are now becoming reality. It’s important that resellers look at how they position themselves and adapt their business model to take advantage of the changes that are coming and cope with the challenges they will generate. The CompTIA Conference will be an ideal forum for sharing ideas and perspectives on this subject and others at a time of profound change and transformation for our industry.”
“Our research on IoT points to a growing market, but confirms that, like many markets for emerging technologies, it will take time for IoT to develop,” says Estelle Johannes, Director, Member Communities, CompTIA. “Channel firms interested in the potential of the IoT market should start laying the groundwork now, learning what steps they can take today to be prepared for tomorrow’s opportunities.”
