Basingstoke, 25 February 2016 – TD Academy, Tech Data’s online training and talent development platform, is reaching out to more resellers by adding learning materials from an increased pool of vendors and making its resources easier to access with a fresh new look and streamlined registration process.

Originally devised as an online learning portal for Hewlett Packard Enterprise partners, the site now contains extensive training material on Microsoft solutions and Brocade networking technologies, as well as learning programmes for solutions provided by Maverick, Tech Data’s specialist audiovisual division, such as Promethean interactive boards and Vision audio and connectivity products.

In addition, the look and feel of the TD Academy has been refreshed and the registration process will be redesigned to make it easier and faster for new users to access and start making use of the extensive resources now available on the site. Tech Data plans to add more vendor materials during 2016 and to extend usage of the TD Academy beyond the current Europe-wide user base of more than 4000 resellers.

As well as additional vendors, there are plans to add training materials designed specifically for customers of Tech Data Mobile, and to provide online learning resources for partners engaging with the Tech Data Cloud programme.

Sara Gemmell, Azlan UK Marketing Director, said: “The TD Academy is a great success and we have been delighted with the level of acceptance we’ve seen both from HP partners and other resellers who have taken advantage of recent learning programmes for Microsoft Office 365, Azure and Windows 2003 End of Support, and for Brocade infrastructure solutions. As we add content from other vendors, the TD Academy will become even more relevant and useful to all resellers, and we fully expect to see many more partners registering and actively using the portal throughout 2016.”

The new look, streamlined registration process will enhance the user experience and make it easier to get started on the portal, added Gemmell. “The new TD Academy will be cleaner and more engaging for users and we will be automating registration as much as possible, so anyone can get logged-on and start making use of the TD Academy very quickly. Knowledge development is so important for resellers today and, by making good use of its extensive resources, they can make the TD Academy a powerful asset for their business.”

Tech Data will be adding more vendor materials to the site throughout 2016, with the aim of making TD Academy the definitive training portal for resellers, providing access to resources on specific vendor programmes and enabling them to develop their overall cross-platform knowledge and capabilities.
